The Apotheker
A sound. A story. An entire visual world.
A concept album and radio play by Smári Guðmundsson needed more than a cover. I created the visual language that carries its strange, cinematic story across music, motion and release materials.

The story becomes an object.
A concept album and radio play has a physical life too. The cover, sleeve and record carry the atmosphere of the story before the first track begins.

Three releases. Three scenes.
Each single opens a different window into the same world. A shared palette, lettering and cast keep the releases connected.

A cast with its own visual language.
Characters, crooked architecture and the apotheker’s silhouette give the campaign a recognisable vocabulary across release materials.

The world moves.
The visual language carries into the lyric films. Watch Strange Incidents here, with the original music and illustrated world together.

Designed to be opened, held and read.
The printed release brings the artwork together with the story, lyrics and credits. These photographs show the design on the finished physical album.

From artwork to release.
The final album carries the world from illustration into a physical record.
